I was reading about this trope called For Want Of A Nail (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ForWantOfANail) and it got me thinking about one of the episodes, Chalk Queen.
We know how that episode goes. Penny is kidnapped by Skrawl and he attempts to coerce her into being his 'chalk queen' so he can use her powers to take over ChalkZone. Penny gets the best of him by pretending to be evil and manages to save herself and her friends. However, there is one detail worth noting.
She has Snap tied over a bot of boiling...I forget exactly what it was, but it was so hot that it disintegrated the spoon the Beanie Boys used. If it could do that to a spoon, imagine what it could have done to Snap. What would have happened if Penny's plan backfired on her, and Snap ending up falling in? Would Snap have survived (but be horribly maimed) or would he have died? What would Rudy have thought of Penny afterwards? Would he be so understanding even if Penny explained to him what she was actually trying to do? What would Penny think of herself knowing what her plan had cost her? Would Rudy reject her as a friend? Would she be forced to fight by Skrawl's side for real? Would she become an example of the trope God Save Us From The Queen (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GodSaveUsFromTheQueen)?
I did write a story ("Crossing Lines, Small Crimes") that showcases Rudy's possible reaction to the immediate aftermath of Penny's actions in Chalk Queen, where he suffers nightmares about Penny actually turning evil and ultimately culminating in him actually attacking her (minorly, but still). However, I didn't stop to think too much about what would have happened if Snap did get hurt/killed by Penny's plan.
I could see it go either way. Rudy might be so angry at Penny that he might not want to see her again. At the same time, he may eventually come to understand that Penny didn't mean it, and forgive her.
