A recent idea I had. I did think something like this months ago, but it hadn't fully dawned on me until quite recently.
I was thinking back to the episode Double Trouble. In it, there's a scene that is quite unusual for Snap. As you may recall, there's a part where Skrawl threatens to destroy Happy Face Valley. Snap's reply tothat is "Good! Because I can't stand those little...." Knowing Snap's personality, this is an out of character comment, and I had been baffled by it for a while.
But I think I came up with an idea that might explain it. What if the happy faces aren't as friendly as they let on? What if, behind those smiles, lie several jerkasses who like to cause trouble and mischief for other zoners?
Think about it. For Snap to say that he was happy their village would be destroyed, he'd have to be angry enough to let something like that slip out, and for him to be angry, he needed a good reason. And one very easy way to do that is if the happy faces mistreated a friend of his, perhaps Rapsheeba or Blocky. And perhaps Snap could also be frustrated as perhaps no one will believe him when he says the happy faces did it; they're just so good at feigning innocense and friendliness that no one suspects them.
I don't think the happy faces would have hurt Rapsheeba or Blocky (if they are actually meaner than they look), but they would have done something bad enough (like maybe steal a favorite item from Blocky or ruining Rapsheeba's clothes before a big concert) that it would piss off Snap. I don't think Snap realy wanted their village destroyed; he was just still really angry at what the happy faces did and that they got no repercussions for it. Perhaps even Rudy could be fooled by the happy faces, which would lead to Snap being more frustrated about it.
I could be wrong and this is just a theory, though it would explain why Snap would say something seemingly out of character. Snap isn't a mean zoner. In order for Snap to say something like that, then there would have to be a good reason for it. That's why I imagine that something the happy faces did angered him, and I don't think it was from them "being cute and seemingly happy all the time", as that would maybe have annoyed him, but not angered him. It wouldn't be enough for him to blurt out "good because I can't stand those ittle". But if the happy faces did something to one or more of his friends and got away with it... yeah I can see that pissing him off more. One thing we all know about Snap: you do not mess with his friends.
