This came to my mind sometime ago as I was writing Catch A Brief Reflection. I noted about how the red chalk manipulates and controls creators, especially on the physical level (though Biclops suggests it's capable of some mind control as well). Rewatching the two red chalk episodes made me realize something.
What if the red chalk is jealous of creators, because it wants to be a creator?
That would partly explain why its possessive with it's creators. It's trying to use and weild creators like weapons because it's unable to create anything on its own. The red chalk wants to be human, and it does so by taking over a human. Perhaps it lashing out at everyone is also partly explained by its jealousy. It's desperately trying to show ChalkZone that it is a creator, and as a creator, it should have control over them.
I'm sure there's other reasons why the red chalk is the way it is, of course. But it having a jealousy towards humans, and trying so desperately to become human, become a creator, by controlling a real one, might account for its behavior at least partly.

Sounds really, REALLY interesting. I kind of wish the show elaborated on the red chalk a little more.

A shame it didn't do that. The red chalk was an aspect that I really liked. But it only appears in 2 episodes, and far as I know, is never mentioned outside said episodes. They don't even explain why the red chalk is evil, or what it's goal is, other than bring chaos to ChalkZone.
Another thing I wish they elaborated on is if there's other types of chalk that do different things. If red chalk draws bad things, then what about purple chalk? Blue chalk? Green chalk? What do they do?

That actually does make sense. Either that, or it has some sort of ulterior motive we don't know. Another thing that would have been really cool to explore if there were more episodes.

Yeah. The red chalk was an awesome concept that I feel was underutilized. They had so much potential in that! I wish they had an episode like Reggie The Red, but have it someone who would have already wanted to cause harm. Reggie does have some mean tendencies, but he's relatively harmless, at least compared to characters like Skrawl. What if someone with a vile attitude got the red chalk and willingly went along with what it wanted? That would have caused a lot of trouble. o.o

Yeah, I don't know. I wonder how long such a person would last before they realized THEY were being controlled. I did like that it was Reggie that got a hold of it, though. But would have been cool to see it go even farther with an adult (or someone really competent) being the one to get hold of it.

Yeah. Rudy would have a lot of trouble if he went against someone with more experience (like what happened in Investigation with Newland). It would be even worse if the person doesn't even care they're being controlled, so they don't have much incentive to try to get rid of the chalk. o.o Or maybe the red chalk has some mental influence, similar to the black chalk in my story. I mean, Reggie tried to resist, but then he suddenly goes crazy, ties up Biclops, and assaults the zoners, so I wonder if the red chalk did something to him that made Reggie surrender to its control. Maybe it created a sort of drug effect that makes it 'feel good' for the creator to wield and draw with the red chalk.
