The brains of the trio, Penny is definitely a good example of a strong female character. She's the smartest of the three, and her intelligence appears to rival Skrawl's. I loved how she was able to outwit him while she pretended to defect. It was amusing that she played Skrawl for a sap, though the scene does show that, should she become an evil creator, she could easily defeat Rudy. Good thing she'd never betray Rudy like that.
I do like it when the show manages to highlight Penny's intelligence and resourcefulness. She may not be as talented an artist as Rudy, but she's good enough to get by, and she can still use her brains to get themselves out of situations. One of my favorite episodes showing this compitence is Taffy, where she saves Rudy, Snap, and several zoners by taking a gamble and drawing on the chalkboard, extending the ocean to wash away the taffy.
