It's hard for me to choose a favorite of the trio, but if I were forced to choose, I'd go with Snap. He's a good friend to Rudy and Penny and I like his selfless nature, throwing himself in harm's way to help another, especially a friend. I also like his friendly personality. He is the type of zoner who would help others, such as the time when a duck was erased with only one leg and Snap offered to help, despite having just met the guy.
He's quite competent as well. There's an episode where he manages to stop a zoner from exposing ChalkZone while Rudy and Penny were unable to. He even went into the real world, showing how courageous he can be, considering the fact that the real worlds lethal dangers for zoners, namely water.

Yeah, it's also hard for me to choose a favorite, but it would have to be Snap.
I love pretty much everything about him. His character design, his voice (I think out of every character Candi Milo has played, I love Snap the most, his personality- he's probably one of my top favorite Nicktoon characters (besides Cosmo and Wanda, Helga Pataki, and Chuckie Finster).
One thing that I realized is that if CZ caught on, I don't think any of us could walk into a store without seeing Snap merchandise everywhere. Since he's kind of the show's "mascot" (on the promotional material, Snap was the most prominent most of the time. And let's face it- Rudy may be the hero, and his name may be in the theme song, but Snap is the one everyone remembers the most), he'd be promoted the most heavy on the merch. Just think- Snap plushies, shirts, coffee mugs, earrings, headphones, anything you could think of. If only...(well, there was that toy of him from Wendy's that I own).
And he's really adorable. Well, all three of the main characters are, but Snap is just really, really cute. It kind of comes with the whole kid-appeal "series mascot" character. It's just his appearance mixed with his voice and personality. I think that's what drew me (no pun intended) to the show, actually. The first episode I saw was "The Skrawl/Pie Day/Secret Passages" when it originally premiered. I missed the first two episodes because I was watching more Cartoon Network at the time (we had only gotten it a few months prior at the time because our old cable provider wouldn't carry it). Anyway, one Friday night The Powerpuff Girls was moved to a new timeslot, so mom and I decided to watch Rugrats (wait...PPG, CZ, and Rugrats all share a lead actress- coincidence?), and during the split-screen credits, Nick was advertising the episodes of the Nicktoons that were to air next. As usual, I was getting excited for SpongeBob, but then I saw a clip of a show I never saw before. I saw some little blue and white guy hitting a penguin in the face with a pie, and my first thought was, "Aw, the blue guy is so cute! I want to watch that show". How did those hacks at Nickelodeon NOT find Snap to be a marketable character?

Just think- Snap plushies, shirts, coffee mugs, earrings, headphones, anything you could think of. If only...(well, there was that toy of him from Wendy's that I own). *sighs* What could have been... (And I have that Wendy's toy too, haha) Snap is my favorite and has been since the beginning. The first episode I watched all the way through (I had seen bits and pieces of some earlier ones, but I was an easily distracted child that didn't always pay attention to the TV. XD) was "Rudy's Date" and to this day that is one of my favorites. I remember thinking it was really cool Snap pushed his friends out of the way of Butch's motorcycle, and that scene was what got me paying attention. It didn't take me long to completely love Snap's personality. By the end of Future Zone/Mumbo Jumbo Jump I was hooked. |
