This is quite a silly show. It's not my favorite Nicktoon, but I don't mind watching it. I generally prefer the older episodes, though, when Timmy's parents aren't hopelessly stupid and Cosmo hasn't been totally reduced to a drooling moron. I can still watch the newer episodes, but they aren't as good in my opinion.

Since it premiered, this has been one of my favorite Nick shows ever. Of course, I prefer the episodes from seasons one to four (as well as the Oh Yeah! Cartoons shorts). My favorite episode that isn't a movie or special would have to be "Apartnership!". I'm such a sucker for Cosmo and Wanda cuteness.
I'd have to say that my favorite characters are Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda (before they got exaggerated and annoying in later episodes), and Mark Chang. I'm actually cosplaying as Wanda this year at RI Comic Con.
I even remember seeing this show premiere. I was around four at the time. Man, thirteen years ago? Damn...
And believe it or not, FOP is the SECOND spin-off from Oh Yeah! Cartoons technically. ChalkZone premiered (as a show) on December 31, 1999 (so it's technically the last '90s Nicktoon) and was supposed to air season one throughout 2000, but it got delayed (from interviews, it seems like most of the CZ cast and crew don't really know what Nickelodeon was doing with the show during 2000-2001, whether it was "on hold" or they changed their mind and didn't want the show anymore until 2002). Sometimes I wonder if the popularity of either show would've been affected if ChalkZone did air as scheduled. What if that became Nick's mega-hit instead?
And fun fact: CZ co-creator Bill Burnett came up with the name "The Fairly OddParents". Before that, Butch Hartman was considering "The Fairy Godparents" or "Oh My Godparents" (I'm guessing the former was too boring and the latter was rejected by Nick for the "oh my god" pun).

I remember Oh Yeah Cartoons. That was where I first saw Fairly Oddparents and ChalkZone. I remember being happy that both got a show deal out of it. It would have been nice if ChalkZone got as popular as Fairly Oddparents, but at the same time, maybe it's kind of a blessing it didn't get as much attention. I have a feeling that CZ would have been exaggerated like how Fairly Oddparents and Spongebob have been.

Rudy would be turned into an idiot, Snap would get turned into a jerk, and Penny would become nothing but the "I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so!" character and nothing else. Then they'd re-use plots...then add unnecessary new characters...try too hard to be "relevant" (pop culture references EVERYWHERE)...and then drop a few of the supporting characters.
