I recently got dragged into the absolute heck that is Undertale and w o w
This game truly is amazing. You really can't help but love all of the characters and the soundtrack is incredible (seeing as it was made by the guy who made the music for Homestuck).

Bruh, EarthBound (The game which inspired Undertale) is better. Trust me

I know of both Undertale and Earthbound, and I find Undertale to be the more interesting of the two. Earthbound may be unconventional like Undertale, but I feel Undertale is a lot more unique in that you don't have to actually fight anyone (except for two that you are forced into). The main premise is that you are actually trying to pacify your enemies rather than outright fighting them. I also find Undertale to be the far more impressive of the two. Earthbound had a lot of people working on it, while only one guy worked on Undertale and it still manages to hold up quite well, feeling like a complete (though short) game.
