What do you guys think will happen with Rudy, Penny, and Snap as the years go by? What changes do you think will happen?
My personal view is that Rudy and Penny will continue heading into ChalkZone even as adults. They might limit it due to their jobs, but at least once a day (if not once or a few times a week at least), but not cut it off entirely, since I cannot see them honestly leaving ChalkZone permanently. Not unless something happened that drove them out (for example, losign the magic chalk and never being able to re-enter).
I could even see them bringing their kids in (if they have any) and ChalkZone would be a family secret. I can see them vacationing in ChalkZone after hard weeks of working, and still exploring even as adults, since ChalkZone is ever transforming and there's always something new to find there.
But this would eventually turn to tragedy because as they age, it'll get harder and harder to move around. Eventually in their old age, they will no longer be able to have as much fun and may even stop altogether if it's too hard for them to crawl through the chalkboard as their bodies start to fail them.
And all the while, Snap will remain young, so imagine his heartbreak as he watches his friends start to break down before his eyes. Imagine one day they stop coming (because they had an accident or even died) and Snap never knows what happened to them. Since he lives forever (unless killed), he will then go on to live for decades and centuries with only the memories of his friends.
Yeah, a rather sad ending. I would feel so sorry for Snap. He certainly stands out as a zoner. Most zoners don't know their creators personally, so it doesn't bother them as much if their creator dies; they don't have that strong bond with them. Snap? He's friends with his creator and is sort of like a little brother to him. To have Rudy eventually die (and Penny too) would be heartbreaking for him, and it's such a foreign concept (dying of old age), it would be harder for him to accept that, I would imagine.
I can imagine him being in denial as his friends age and lose more and more energy, and he would eventually have to come to terms with the fact that he is going to outlive his friends. Though on a more positive note, if Rudy and Penny have children and they start coming into ChalkZone, having them around (as well as their own chidlren if they have any themselves) may help soften the blow for Snap a little, as they could help each other with dealing with the loss.
Anyway, how about you guys? What do you guys think will happen years down the line?
